Concealed Fuel Door Air Fitting Kit for 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL

Adding on board air to your Jeep JL and looking for a convenient place to mount an air fitting? This kit mounts a push-button style air hose socket inside your JL's fuel door for convenient access that's hidden and keeps your air fitting out of the way and out of the elements.

This kit includes a stainless steel fuel door plate, push-button style air hose socket, bulkhead through-wall fitting, mounting hardware, and a reducer to allow the bulkhead fitting to work with the most common size lines used to supply air. Your factory fuel cap and fuel door are reused.

We prefer the push-button air socket over the common "push to connect" style fitting. We love how easy they are to use, so they're attached to every airline inside our shop and on our rigs.

Installation takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Use of a drill and a dremel tool/rotary tool for trimming some plastic using the included trimming template are recommended.

This kit doesn't include an on board air supply, compressor or tank. This is only the fitting and kit to route it to your fuel door. This kit is designed to work with the OEM Fuel Door found in the Gasoline powered JL. This will not work with the Diesel JL fuel doors that are equipped with DEF fluid fillers, and will also not work with electronic doors such as those found in the 4xE JL.

Additional Details

Products are designed and fabricated to fit vehicles that have varying tolerances from the factory, minor hand fitting may be required.

Products are shipped bare metal unless otherwise specified by the customer. Bare metal products may have scratches or surface imperfections as a result of raw material handling, manufacturing, and fabrication. However, these imperfections are easily covered up with a textured powder coat finish. Additional finishing, sanding, and prep work may be required if you wish to also have them finished with a smooth powder coat or paint.

Projected lead times are estimates only, and are subject to changes due to production realities, including material and labor availability and sudden variability in order volume. Lead times are not guaranteed, but we do guarantee that we are hard at work trying to get the best product we can produce and into our customers’ hands as quickly as possible.

All Next Venture Motorsports products are laser cut, CNC formed, and hand-weld with pride in the USA. We are a Colorado-based business, and welcome visitors by appointment at our Grand Junction, CO headquarters. We hope to see you out there on the trail soon!

Awesome idea and convenient

I love the idea and love the package I received. The air coupler is high quality and install is pretty easy. I love the finished product. I have two minor gripes though. One is if you have a trim without the fuel door, it won't work. The open air fuel cap design is different and would probably take significant modifications. Not a big deal, but I did have to buy a fuel door and it wasn't explicitly called out that it doesn't work with the standard. Second is there are 4 holes for the screws but 2 are the larger diameter and 2 for the smaller diameter. You get 3 small diameter screws and 1 large. Nothing a quick trip to the hardware store can't fix, but for the money you expect the best.

James,

Thanks for leaving the review! This was designed for use with the Gas Rubicon fuel doors, so the 'doorless' models, and Diesel models would not work (at least out of the box) as you mentioned. We'll get that added into the description to clear that up! On the hardware; we ship 3 small diameter screws, 1 large diameter, and the last hole (the 5th one) should be populated by the plastic retainer/anchor that holds the fuel cap into the fuel door on all of the Rubicon models we've seen. There are a lot of variations of JL thanks to all the options Jeep has given us; so I completely believe you could have a different set up -- but that is what the additional hole was intended for. Glad you like the finished product and really appreciate you leaving the review -- we'll definitely use the information to make the product/description better going forward! Thank you! - Dan

Nice way to hide your air coupler

Installation is really simply, you just need to remove your rear light in order to remove your fuel cap.
I didn't have a Dremel to make the cut-out in the fuel cap, so i used a jigsaw instead. it does the job.

The only thing, is that the air coupler with the kit uses is deeper, so my AIR male hose was too short to get engaged, so i bought a new 1/4 NPT male a bit deeper, so it can engage on the air coupler.

Other than that, i'm pretty happy about the quality of the kit.

It's cool that it's hidden and stealth.

The idea alone makes it a great product. It also works with the ARB air chuck fitting (I didn't want to convert my hoses to another style). I used a brass reducer on each end of their fitting (one for the ARB and one for a brass push lock air hose barn) I did use a zip tie to pull the gas filler a little to the rear to clear the wider ARB fitting. Be sure to use anti-seize on the stainless threads, I had one gall up on me. It's cool that it's hidden and stealth.
(The missing bolt in the pic is the one that froze up on me, I don't have a pic after I replaced it)

They invited me and my whole crew in for a tour of the facility on our way to Moab. These guys not only produce amazing armor for your Jeep, they are really good people. So, I’ve been running their rear diff skid for 9 months and it has easily held up to everything I’ve thrown at it.

After this go around with Moab and Holy cross, the diff skids did their job and protected my Jeep. My rear aluminum bumper performed phenomenally on the trail!

Can’t say enough about Dan and his ultra skilled team! Dan was able to get us in for a skidplate with UHMW & sliders for our JKUR. The fit, finish and quality are just out of this world! Can you say “stacked dimes”? Absolutely gorgeous welds…

2 years later I'm writing this review. I've beaten the crap out of this thing hitting rocks, winching, draging it down obstacles, and now exposed to the Florida elements. The bumper looks like it did the day they sent it. You will not find a better company to work with that cares about their clients and their products!

Without a doubt, Next Venture Motorsports is my first stop for epic Jeep parts. Their JL aluminum front and rear featherweight bumpers are solidly built, easy enough to install, and crafted to perfection. I can't wait for more products for my 2 door JL!

I like it because it lets you use factory fog lights if you want. They also have a featherweight aluminum option that doesn't have holes for fogs and is essentially a stubby bumper. I am very pleased with all of their stuff. [JL/JT Adventure Series Bumper]
